5 Fun and Cheap Ways to Celebrate Your Child’s Birthday

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

Your kid just turned five, six, or some other age that ends in “teen” and probably doesn’t feel all that different. But for you, as a parent, it feels like the biggest milestone to date. You have your child for another two decades or so? What will you do with all that time?

And what about this birthday party thing? How do we tackle this one? Are you obliged to throw some sort of party with extended family members and weird acquaintances from school? Because, honestly, how much do you want to spend on balloons and cake mix right now. Surely there are cheaper and more fun alternatives out there! Right?

This article is going to be your guide to cheap kid’s birthday parties. Consider it a road map through the choices available to you when planning this once-in-a-blue moon event. Think of us as your not-so-secret fairy godparents who want nothing more than to help make your life that little bit easier!

Don’t stress about the big party!

Your kid is five, six, or seven. That doesn’t mean that you have to throw some sort of lavish party with a clown, a magician, and a pinata. No one is going to judge you if you don’t want to go all out and host some sort of fancy shindig. Trust us.

Your child is probably too young to really appreciate a bunch of grown-up party games and may not remember the whole thing at all a few weeks down the line. And while it would be nice to share the day with family and friends, you don’t want to get yourself into financial trouble.
